Matt Manaker began providing Property Management services in 2005, and in 2006, he founded Charleston Home Rentals, LLC.
In 2009, brothers Matt Azar and Josh Azar joined the company, and in early 2014, Doug Azar and Ben Azar joined the company. The friendship between the Manakers and the Azars of over 30 years continues in a partnership that's equally successful and transfers a unique chemistry to the business of Property Management.
All partners take a hands-on approach and are involved in all facets of the business including Leasing, Property Management, Marketing, Owner and Tenant Relations, Property Maintenance and Business Development.
Matt Manaker was a Licensed Officer in the American Merchant Marine and graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Matt worked in Public Finance for 10 years and held licenses as a General Securities Representative (Series 7) and a Certified Investment Advisor (Series 65). Matt currently holds a South Carolina Real Estate License, has received the REALTOR designation from the Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS and is a licensed Property Manager-in-Charge.
Matt Azar has a Bachelor's degree from University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Babson College. Matt worked in Advertising for 12 years developing strategies for brands to connect with their consumers, through both traditional and digital channels. Matt holds a South Carolina Real Estate License and has received the REALTOR designation from the Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS.
Josh Azar graduated from College of Charleston and entered the Hospitality industry. Josh held senior management positions at resorts in Stowe, Vermont and Nantucket, Massachusetts. Most recently Josh was employed through Orient-Express as a Senior Manager at Charleston Place Hotel. Josh is a licensed Property Manager and currently holds a South Carolina Real Estate License.
Ben Azar has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Hartford and a Masters in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. Ben practiced architecture for 13 years prior to joining Charleston Home Rentals. Ben currently holds a Connecticut Real Estate License and will be obtaining his South Carolina Real Estate License in the near future.
Doug Azar received a BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967 and a Masters Degree in Financial Services from The American College in 1975. He worked in the insurance industry in marketing and executive positions for 34 years with four companies including Aetna, North American Life Assurance, AIG and ING.
Lisa Lewerke has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from University of Iowa. Lisa held positions in office management and sales support for over 6 years. Lisa joined Charleston Home Rentals in 2013 and assists with bookkeeping and advertising.
Natalie Dull graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. Natalie has worked in the Hospitality industry since 2009. Natalie joined Charleston Home Rentals in early 2014 as a Leasing Assistant and handles customer service and leasing administration.
Haley Haines graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communications and Leadership. Haley had worked in hospitality in Florida for two years before moving to Charleston to join the Charleston Home Rentals team as a Leasing Agent in July of 2015.
Elena Stenina, originally from Russia, moved to the U.S. six years ago to gain experience in international business. Elena has a Bachelor’s Degree in Office Management and Computer Science from the Linguistic University of Dobrolubov.
Elena brings with her seven years of sales experience from companies such as Heineken and Orient-Express, and at Charleston Home Rentals, Elena is currently the Assistant Bookkeeper.
Brooke Bachman brings more than six years of experience in the hospitality industry to the Charleston Home Rentals team. The upstate South Carolina native attended Clemson University before moving to the coast in 2011. Brooke held management and customer service oriented positions at local businesses before joining Charleston Home Rentals as a Leasing Assistant in March of 2016.
